Asiantuntijat

I am a postdoctoral researcher working at the Centre of Excellence in Music, Mind, Body and Brain on the MUSICONNECT project in which I research how music supports young people’s social and emotional development. I am also working on the MUSICOTAS project in which we are investigating the magic underlying shared musical experiences in concerts.

My main projects are currently a scoping review focused on how music supports social and emotional development and several ongoing concert research projects. I love that as a researcher, I get to explore so many different domains and I seize that opportunity wholeheartedly. In line with my purpose, I have several ongoing side projects exploring how generative AI use in music affects connectedness, how music affects rock climbing, and how people use music in response to climate emotions. Taken together, my manifesto is to understand how real-world interventions such as music and sport are capable of supporting social bonding, wellbeing, communities, and the planet.
